Capabilities of business applications

Completed

Historically speaking, LOB solutions fit into a couple of categories: customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP). As business applications, Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform have evolved, and those lines are blurred into more holistic options.

CRM can take many forms, from keeping handwritten notes at a small, family-owned restaurant to Microsoft Outlook, to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales.

ERP can be like CRM, plus a collection of disparate systems that you can use to manage core systems independently of one another. Alternatively, ERP can be a full suite, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, that’s set up to work in tandem to solve large scale business needs.

The following sections explore some capabilities of Dynamics 365 products.
