Introduction

Completed

Microsoft Exchange Online Protection (EOP) is a cloud-based email filtering service. It provides anti-malware and anti-spam policies to protect organizations against spam and malware. EOP includes features to safeguard organizations from messaging policy violations.

This module will introduce you to EOP features and functionality. You'll also learn about the primary ways in which EOP can be used for messaging protection.

The module will then analyze the three different ways of deploying EOP:

  • EOP with Exchange Online mailboxes
  • EOP with on-premises mailboxes (also known as EOP standalone)
  • EOP with Exchange Hybrid Deployment

You'll then learn how to configure mail flow using EOP in each of these deployment scenarios. You'll also learn about the various types of reports that are available to help you determine the overall status and health of your organization.

This module concludes with a brief introduction to Microsoft Purview Message Encryption. You'll learn that Microsoft Purview Message Encryption is an online service that's built on Microsoft Azure Rights Management (Azure RMS), which is part of Azure Information Protection. This service includes encryption, identity, and authorization policies to help secure your email. Messages can be encrypted by using rights management templates assigned through mail flow rules.
