Inventory statuses

Completed

Your organization can use inventory statuses as part of storage dimension groups to categorize inventory, such as creating inventory statuses for available inventory, outbound transactions, and inbound transactions. Your organization can also specify default statuses for warehouse transactions and manage the inventory status for items from arrival through put away.

By going to Warehouse management > Setup > Inventory > Inventory statuses, you can create your desired inventory statuses. Use the Inventory blocking parameter to block items that contain a status of Unavailable. When you select this option, you can't use the items in a production order, sales order, transfer order, or outbound transaction because they're considered physical inventory.

Default inventory statuses

After you set up inventory statuses, you have the flexibility to define default statuses for sites, items, and warehouses. Additionally, you can establish defaults for sales, transfer, and purchase orders. For sales orders and outbound transfer orders, you can't turn on the Inventory blocking option with a default status set to Yes. Furthermore, you can adjust any inherited inventory status from default settings at the site, warehouse, item, purchase order, transfer order, or sales order level by using a mobile device or directly on the respective order lines.

Change inventory statuses

Two ways of changing inventory statuses are from the On-hand by location page or by using the Inventory status change periodic task. On the On-hand by location page, you can select the Inventory status change button on the relevant record. To use the Inventory status change periodic task, select the record that you want to include and then set the task to run in the batch.
