IAMTimelineTrans::GetCutPoint method

[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]

Note

[Deprecated. This API may be removed from future releases of Windows.]

The GetCutPoint method retrieves the cut point. If you render a transition as a cut, the cut point is the time when the transition cuts from one source to the next. By default, this value is the middle of the transition. For example, in a transition that spans one second, the default cut point is 0.5 seconds into the transition.

Syntax

HRESULT GetCutPoint(
   REFERENCE_TIME *pTLTime
);

Parameters

pTLTime

Receives the cut point, relative to the start time of the transition, in 100-nanosecond units.

Return value

Returns one of the following HRESULT values:

Return code Description
S_FALSE
The cut point was not set. The value returned is the default value.
S_OK
The cut point was set to a value other than the default.
E_POINTER
NULL pointer argument.
