IXamlDiagnostics2::GetUiLayerForXamlRoot method (xamlom.winui.h)

Gets the visual diagnostics root that can be used to draw on for highlighting elements in the tree.

Syntax

HRESULT GetUiLayerForXamlRoot(
  InstanceHandle instanceHandle,
  IInspectable   **ppLayer
);

Parameters

instanceHandle

A handle to the XamlRoot instance.

ppLayer

The visual diagnostics root.

Return value

If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.

Remarks

This method gets the UI layer associated with the XamlRoot passed in as the instanceHandle parameter. This method replaces IXamlDiagnostics::GetUiLayer, which assumes there is only one main window and only returns its UI layer.
