La seguridad de acceso del código (CAS) ha quedado en desuso en todas las versiones de .NET Framework y .NET. Las versiones recientes de .NET no respetan las anotaciones de CAS y generan errores si se usan API relacionadas con CAS. Los desarrolladores deben buscar medios alternativos para realizar tareas de seguridad.
Los permisos de Common Language Runtime son objetos que describen conjuntos de operaciones que se pueden proteger para los recursos especificados. Un objeto de permiso describe las operaciones o el acceso que está sujeto al control de seguridad; no representa el acceso ni un derecho para realizar operaciones. El código de aplicación usa permisos y el sistema de seguridad de .NET Framework de las siguientes maneras:
El código solicita los permisos que necesita para ejecutarse.
La directiva del sistema de seguridad concede permisos al código para que se ejecute.
El código exige que el código de llamada tenga un permiso.
El código invalida la pila de seguridad mediante assert/deny/permit-only.
