My X64 Programming article for MSDN is finally out
You can see a pretty picture of what the MSDN cover looks like here:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/06/05/default.aspx
Unfortunately, it's not the "Preview" article, so you'll need to wait another month or so till it appears online. However, if you're a subscriber, the issue should be hitting your mailbox soon. My copy hasn't arrived yet.
In case you're wondering, the article subtitle is: "Get Started Now Programming and Debugging 64-bit Windows Systems"
My own preference for a subtitle would have been along the lines of "Just Enough Info To Get the Accomplished Win32 Programmer going on 64-Bit Windows Programming". However, MSDN has policies and naming standards, so I'm not particularly upset.
Perhaps I'm just misty eyed for the days when my articles had titles like "Liposuction Your Corpulent Executables and Remove Excess Fat" (July 1993)

Congrats on the article. I'm not a subscriber, but I'll make an effort to get a copy and read up.
I still have the lipsuction article bookmarked. It's going to take a lot of work to convince me that mapping twenty-some megabytes of .NET stuff into the process space is worthwhile. Lean is good.Anonymous

Congratulations Matt... so, your HDTV didn't really eat your brain did it?
Well, it's good to know that you're still writing :-)
I'm a subscriber and I sure hope my issues arrives earlier than usual.
I also loved the liposuction article, I've been trying to keep my exe's as slim as possible... but .NET is a major pain in that area...Anonymous
