Introduction
This module focuses on how Contoso Retail addresses their business requirements by customizing the Store operations solution to integrate with their line-of-business applications.
Retail story
To meet their business requirements, Contoso Retail needs to extract and integrate survey responses into their line-of-business applications to improve the retail store operations.
You can customize and extend Microsoft cloud solutions to meet the unique needs of your organization. This level of automation can improve productivity, reduce errors, and lead to better business outcomes. Recently, Contoso Retail decided to automate the store opening process with a survey that contains a set of questions to be performed daily when their store associates are opening stores. The survey includes questions such as whether the point-of-sale (POS) software application and hardware (printers or handheld) are working properly. Additionally, the survey requests details about POS hardware or software issues, if the store is clean and hygienic, and if the store layout is compliant.
Contoso Retail also wants to provide its users with a customized experience of Store operations by updating their company logo on the app and providing coloring that's specific to forms. Also, they plan to change the default theme of the application for the users.
You can personalize the Store operations solutions by creating a custom appearance and behavior. You can change the default colors and visual elements that are provided in the default theme of the application. Additionally, you can set up the theme colors and apply them globally throughout the application. Store operations supports themes that the Dynamics 365 platform provides.
Personas and scenarios
In this module, you assume different personas to solve the integration requirements of Contoso Retail. Acting as these various personas, you perform the following exercises (in the order shown):
Set up the prerequisites for completing the rest of the exercises in this module. You need sample template files with fields for developing the integration requirements. In a typical integration scenario, you would use Microsoft Azure Integration Services and Microsoft Azure Storage. However, for this training, you use sample template files that are available for download.
Develop a low-code based solution by using Microsoft Power Automate flows that extracts the survey responses and exports this data to a file on Contoso Retail's Microsoft Teams site to integrate with Contoso's other line-of-business applications.
Record survey responses as part of the Store Opening Checklist survey.
Customize the forms in the Store operations solution for special themes and background colors.
Publish and implement the plans, assign tasks to store associates, and set up push notifications.
