SQL Server Developer Tools "Juneau" CTP3 bits available now!

Our CTP3 bits are available now through WebPI.  We invite you to evaluate this pre-release version of the SQL Server Developer Tools “Juneau” and send us your feedback. 

If you are using Visual Studio Database Projects today you will find some improvements in this release including: Simplified project templates, SQL Azure/Denali support, offline/online table designer and much, much more.

Install Juneau now. Installing Juneau will also install the new LocalDB SQL engine which is a must have for any SQL developer.

    Will Juneau address the following issues with VS 2010 SP1 Database Project Schema Compare?No filtering of schema comparisons by schema (they are really database comparisons, not schema comparisons). No handling of Refactor | Rename in scripts produced by schema comparisons.

    Hi Mark,In the CTP3 version SQL Schema Compare still does not comprehend refactor opertions on the project.  This will be enabled in the next release. Correction. This feature did make the CTP3 feature release.Comparing only a Schema through SQL Schema is not planned for the next release, but is oun our backlog.     Hi Mark,Juneau Schema Compare visualizes the renames and move schemas in the deployment script.  However, it does not show all the referenced objects that had their scripts changed because of the design-time refactoring, which is slated as a future improvement in our backlog.Thanks,Jeff

    @JoeyD: Yes, Juneau includes Database Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services into the same VS 2010 shell.  You will have all the project types available in the SQL Developer Tools Shell or VS Pro, Prem, Ult.
