Helping improve Microsoft Solutions Framework

I’ve been working with the Microsoft Solutions Framework team since July 2006. We’ve been working on three main fronts:

  • Adding DB Pro content to both MSF CMMI and Agile process guidance: The DB Pro team has done some awesome work especially with regards to database unit testing. The new MSF guidance content will help give the database developer a role within MSF Agile and CMMI.
  • Team Foundation Server support for Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0: This means that you will be able to create TFS project portal sites on WSS 3.0. ASP.Net Master pages are supported in WSS 3.0 so site templates have been updated accordingly.
  • Process Editor: We’ve extended ImagiNets’s Work Item Editor tool to support a visual work flow designer, as well as several other enhancements. We leveraged the DSL Tools team’s work provide the workflow designer. The Process Editor allows you to customize TFS process templates. You can download process templates via the TFS Process Template Manager and then edit using the Process Editor.
