Ever wish My Computer would Explore instead of Open?
When you double-click on My Computer, it never shows the folders or Explorer bar. When you right-click on My Computer and Explore, it does. Here’s how to make Explore the default choice. Double-click on My Computer, go to Tools, Folder Options, File Types, and find the file type of FOLDER with extension of (NONE). Click Advanced, Explore, Set Default. To imagine the possibilities, look at Advanced for the .DOC extension and see how to create your own.

Whey I get to Advanced, and None, the only option offered is "file", and if I type in "explore" it demands to know what function to run this in. I'm lost. - Anonymous

Try this:
Hold down the Windows key and type an E
Go up to Folders and down to Options
Click on the File Types tab
Then double-click on (none) Folder - not File Folder
Click on Advanced
You should see two actions, Explore and Open
Click on your choice and set it to default. - Anonymous

If you have an issue where it only searches, it's because you accidentally clicked on File Folder instead of Folder, send me e-mail offline.
