SharePoint 2010 and Exchange Win Best of Year Awards
Each year, InfoWorld holds the 2011 Technology of the Year Awards to identify and recognize the best and most innovative IT products. This year, Microsoft was honored with four awards.
SharePoint 2010 took home the award for best collaboration platform for its ability to enhance content management, improve workflows and provide better community action, among other features.
Since 73% of organizations use Exchange as their primary e-mail system, it’s comes as no surprise that Exchange 2010 won the award for best mail server. InfoWorld praised Exchange 2010 for its “improved management, administration and reliability features plus an enhanced experience for users that includes automatic transcription of voicemails, delivery reports for messages and extensive self-service options.” Read more about Exchange’s win in this EHLO blog post by Rajesh Jha, corporate vice president for Exchange and this UC blog post by Julie White, senior director for Exchange product management.
Other awards for Microsoft include Silverlight 4 for best rich Internet application development platform and Visual Studio 2010 for best non-Java IDE. You can see the full slideshow featuring all the winners at InfoWorld.com.
