SQL Server 2014 Columnstore: Released for SAP BW

SAP generally released SQL Server 2014 for SAP NetWeaver two weeks ago as announced in https://blogs.msdn.com/b/saponsqlserver/archive/2015/03/11/sql-server-2014-now-released-by-sap-for-sap-netweaver-7-xx.aspx
As of last week, the SQL Server 2014 In-Memory Optimized Columnstore is generally available for all supported SAP BW releases. The required SAP BW Support Packages are described in detail in https://blogs.msdn.com/b/saponsqlserver/archive/2015/01/08/sql-server-column-store-for-sap-bw-status-and-release-planning.aspx
SQL Server 2014 Columnstore can now be used in three scenarios within SAP BW:
- Read-Only Columnstore on the e-fact table of SAP BW cubes and aggregates in BW 7.x
- Writeable Columnstore on f-fact and e-fact table of SAP BW cubes and aggregates in BW 7.x
- Columnstore Optimized Flat Cube in BW 7.4

Martin, when can we expect your blessing for DSO tables, 80% of our reporting is on DSO's and I'm really happy to know at least cubes can be leveraged for column store indexes. Thanks- Anonymous

We want to support Columnstore also on SAP BW DSO Tablets in the future. This will require SQL Server 2016. However, the implementation of this project is delayed. We are currently busy with other BW projects for further improving SAP BW on Microsoft SQL Server.
