My podcast: Episode 2 – The Red Queen theory of cyber security
This podcast is episode 2 of the Terry Zink: Security Talk podcast – The Red Queen theory of Internet security. It is based on a blog post I wrote a couple of weeks ago.
Description | Why do Internet breaches keep getting worse even though security techniques have gotten better? I borrow from evolutionary psychology wherein a species must constantly evolve not to get an advantage over other members of species, but just to survive against opposing species (i.e., by parasites). In like fashion, security technology must get better not to get better in the industry, but simply to fight off hackers who are similarly getting better. |
