Business value
Track the progress of your sustainability initiatives and measure their effectiveness. Define multiple target values for benchmarks like 2030 and 2050 emissions targets without having to define repetitive objectives. This feature increases efficiency and accuracy while you’re creating goals and targets that align to the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). You can also quickly identify which goals are approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Microsoft Sustainability Manager helps you to prepare CSRD-compliant disclosure reports with the following capabilities:
- Baselines: To support baselines, the starting value is now the baseline value. You can align the new baseline value with a baseline year. The baselines are included in the new CSRD reporting output.
- Percentage-based target values: Goals support the ability to express a target value as a percentage, while still supporting absolute values.
- Multiple targets: You can enter up to 10 total targets. For each target, you can define a target name, target date, and target value. The targets are available in the export of data for CSRD report types.
- SBTi checkbox: The goal details page includes an SBTi checkbox so you can quickly identify which goals are approved by the SBTi.
After you set these values, you can generate a CSRD report in Purview Compliance Manager, which uses the data in Sustainability Manager.
