Use the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Synchronization Toolbar

After you have completed the setup of the Microsoft Office Outlook Add in, a tab is added to the Outlook ribbon for your use. You use commands on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Synchronization tab to specify settings for synchronization and to review errors and conflicts.

In Outlook 2010, choose the Add-ins tab, and then choose Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The following table describes commands on the ribbon.

Synchronize

Synchronize items that have been created or modified since the last synchronization.

Full Synchronization

Synchronize all items. Generally, you perform a full synchronization after you have first set up Outlook synchronization.

Settings

Open the Settings dialog box.

General

Specify synchronization options. These include how often synchronization should run. You can also specify options for how conflicts should be resolved.

Connection

Specify options for establishing communication between Outlook and Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Folders

Required. Select the Outlook folders in which you will synchronize Outlook items with Microsoft Dynamics NAV entities. The folders that are listed on this tab are determined by the synchronization entities that have been specified for the user in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Filters

Specify filter criteria to reduce the number of items that will be synchronized. You can create a filter for each entity type, you can specify.

Customize

Specify which commands are displayed on the ribbon. The Settings command is always available.

Troubleshooting

Open the Troubleshooting dialog box to resolve synchronization issues. If the Troubleshooting icon is red, then you have errors or conflicts that must be addressed.

Log of synchronization errors.

Conflicts

Log of synchronization conflicts.

Connection State

Indicate synchronization connection state.
