Recurring Field, Gen. Journal Template Table

Specifies whether the journal template will be a recurring journal.

Recurring journals can be very useful when you have entries that must be posted repeatedly with no or few changes (for example, rent, subscriptions, electricity, heat, etc.).

With a recurring journal, entries that will be posted regularly need to be typed in only once. That is, the accounts, dimensions and dimension values and so on that you enter will be remain in the journal after posting. If any adjustments are necessary, you can make them with each posting.

In a recurring journal you also have access to the Gen. Jnl. Allocation facility,

which you can use to divide up entries among various accounts in a single process.

A recurring journal appears in a special window that contains, in addition to the standard fields, special fields in which you can define which entries will be repeated and how they will be repeated.

Place a check in the check box to make the journal a recurring journal.
