A delivery reminder is a document you use to remind your customer of an outstanding delivery.
A delivery reminder is composed of a delivery reminder header and a number of delivery reminder lines. The reminder header contains information about the vendor such as name, address and Reminder Terms. It also contains information about the delivery reminder such as the document date and due date and reminder level. The program retrieves most of this information from the Vendor and Delivery Reminder Term tables.
Delivery reminder lines contain information (such as document number, due date and remaining quantity) about outstanding deliveries the vendor is to be reminded of.
The reminder facilities in Microsoft Dynamics NAV are based on the core data for each vendor. They offer you options, such as applying a number of predefined text options when creating reminders for your vendors.
Delivery reminders can be created automatically with the Create Delivery Reminder batch job. This batch job creates one reminder for each vendor for which there are outstanding deliveries.
To create a new delivery reminder manually, create a reminder header and then use the Suggest Reminder Lines function.
After you have completed the delivery reminder header and associated delivery reminder lines, you must issue the delivery reminder.
