Syntax

Parameters
- pVal
Returns the value of the Initials property as a reference to a BSTR.
- Val
Sets the value of the Initials property to the value of the BSTR.
Remarks
In Collaboration Data Objects (CDO), initials are calculated by using the first capitalized letters for the first, middle, last name of the contact. Each initial is separated by a period. The Initials field has a maximum of six characters.
Note
In the Active Directory® directory service, the initials field represents the capitalized first letter of the middle name followed by a period. When a new user is created in Active Directory, the Initials field can be set to a string that has a maximum of four characters.
