Remarks

For example, the contentclass Field specifies the name of a content class, such as urn:content-classes:document. Every item in an Exchange store contains the contentclass Field.

To avoid name collisions with other applications, use a namespace convention when you create custom content class and property definitions. For example, you might use the namespace urn:my-company-tld:content-classes: for your content classes. You can name custom properties the same way.
