DisableWelcomePage
specifies whether to skip the Welcome page when the user runs Internet Explorer for the first time.
The Internet Explorer Welcome page introduces users to the browser and its features.
Note
This setting has been deprecated in Windows® 8. The information about this deprecated setting is provided for reference only. There is no Welcome page in Internet Explorer 10 through Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8. The setting continues to exist for Internet Explorer 10 through Internet Explorer 11 on Windows® 7.
If both DisableWelcomePage
and IEWelcomeMsg are set, the value for IEWelcomeMsg is used to determine if whether the Welcome page is displayed. We recommend that you clear the value for IEWelcomeMsg, and use the DisableWelcomePage
setting instead.
When the user opens Internet Explorer for the first time, the user may also see the First Run Wizard. For more information, see DisableFirstRunWizard.
