OID_WW_GEN_DEVICE_INFO

The OID_WW_GEN_DEVICE_INFO OID requests the miniport driver to return initialization-time information about itself and its NIC.

This request uses a WW_DEVICE_INFO structure, defined as follows:

The members of this structure contain the following information:

  • Manufacturer
    Describes a buffer containing the name of the NIC's manufacturer in displayable Unicode text.

  • ModelNum
    Describes a buffer containing the manufacturer-assigned model number of the NIC in displayable Unicode text.

  • SWVersionNum
    Describes a buffer containing the manufacturer-assigned version number of the NIC software/firmware in displayable Unicode text.

  • SerialNum
    Describes a buffer containing the manufacturer-assigned serial number of the NIC in displayable Unicode text.

Sets and indications are irrelevant for this OID.

Note   This OID is not available for use beginning with Windows Vista.
