Publishing problems

This is a common problem among new users.  When trying to connect to your website within Expression Web sometimes errors will occur.  Here are a few steps to take.

1.  Contact your host and confirm you have the correct address, username, and password

2.  If using FPSE (FrontPage Server Extensions) make sure the address starts with "https://".  If using FTP then the address will start with "ftp://"

3.  If you are receiving a "port 21" error when trying to connect using ftp toggle the option "Use Passive FTP" in IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced

4.  If you are running any Anti-Virus software try disabling it for a few minutes and try to publish again

    I am getting the following error when I try to publish either of the two websites that are subordinate to my primary hosted website. I don't know how to change from port 80 to port 23. 500 Internal Server Error    Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log.  Apache Server at www.mlsbaisch.com Port 80

    I had a website with Comcast and they stopped supporting this website and told me I must switch to a new supporting website. I picked GoDaddy and they gave me a website pobrien48.com that worked with Microsoft expressions 4 for a few days. Now I cannot upload to this website from expressions web. I get this error message: You cannot create a site at FTP://107.180.41.86. If there is a server at that location. You may create a substitute by specifying a location such as FTP://107.180.41.86/my website My name for this website is paulobrien48 my password is TentTool66 I do hope someone can help me get my Microsoft expression Web so it uploads the information I type and change I make to this website pobrien48.com I have spent over $300 on computer help with no success.
