Поставщик расширителей — это компонент, предоставляющий свойства другим компонентам. Например, элемент управления ToolTip реализуется как поставщик расширителей. При добавлении элемента управления ToolTip в форму Form к спискам свойств всех других элементов управления в форме Form добавляется свойство ToolTip.

В следующем примере демонстрируется построение поставщика расширителей с помощью создания элемента управления HelpLabel. В нем показана реализация метода CanExtend и свойства HelpText. С помощью метода CanExtend конструктор Windows Forms определяет, необходимо ли расширение этого свойства для данного элемента управления. Элемент управления HelpLabel расширяет свойство HelpText для использования с элементами управления на форме. При переключении фокуса на данный элемент управления в панели отображается соответствующий текст справки.

В примере демонстрируются следующие положения:

  • Элемент управления HelpLabel поставщика расширителей реализует IExtenderProvider.

  • Элемент управления HelpLabel использует ProvidePropertyAttribute для задания имени предоставленного свойства, а также типа компонентов, которые могут принимать это свойство.

  • HelpLabel представляет собой элемент управления Windows Forms и, следовательно, наследуется от Control.

  • Метод CanExtend возвращает значение true для любого элемента управления, кроме HelpLabel, поскольку расширять свойство "само на себя" не имеет смысла.

  • HelpLabel содержит метод GetHelpText, получающий свойство, которое HelpLabel делает доступным для других элементов управления. Метод SetHelpText задает значение этого свойства.
