I'm sure that a number of developers have been downloading the Windows developer preview. With the preview comes new (unofficial) shortcuts. The following list are the ones we're aware of:

@Seth I just hit the Windows key on the keyboard to go back to the home screen. As far freeing up the memory, not sure how...it appears to just background those apps. If you look in Task Manager you will see items that are listed as suspended.Anonymous
