ProtocolDefinition.ClassName Property

Gets or sets the fully qualified class name of the custom delivery protocol.

Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Nmo
Assembly: Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo (in microsoft.sqlserver.smo.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Property ClassName As String
public string ClassName { get; set; }
public:
property String^ ClassName {
    String^ get ();
    void set (String^ value);
}
/** @property */
public String get_ClassName ()

/** @property */
public void set_ClassName (String value)
public function get ClassName () : String

public function set ClassName (value : String)

Property Value

A String, between 1 and 512 characters in length, that specifies the fully qualified class name.

Remarks

The ClassName value is the fully qualified name of the class within the assembly. If the class is in a namespace, make sure to include the namespace with the class name so that Notification Services can locate the class.

For custom delivery protocols based on the IHttpProtocolProvider interface, specify HttpExtension for the class name.

Example

The following examples show how to declare a custom delivery protocol and add it to an instance of Notification Services:

ProtocolDefinition customProtocol =
    new ProtocolDefinition(myInstance, "MyCustomProtocol");
customProtocol.ClassName = "MyNamespace.MyProtocolClass";
customProtocol.AssemblyName = @"C:\NS\Full\MyCustomComponents.dll";
myInstance.ProtocolDefinitions.Add(customProtocol);
Dim customProtocol As ProtocolDefinition = _
    New ProtocolDefinition(myInstance, "MyCustomProtocol")
customProtocol.ClassName = "MyNamespace.MyProtocolClass"
customProtocol.AssemblyName = _
    "C:\NS\Full\MyCustomComponents.dll"
myInstance.ProtocolDefinitions.Add(customProtocol)
