Add Method of the ISdoCollection Interface

The Add method adds an item to the Server Data Objects (SDO) collection.

HRESULT Add(
  [in]                 BSTR bstrName,
  [in, out]            IDispatch** ppItem
);

Parameters

  • bstrName
    Specifies the name of the SDO Object. This parameter may be NULL.

  • ppItem
    Pointer to an IDispatch interface pointer for the Item to add. This parameter must not be NULL.

Return Value

If the method succeeds the return value is S_OK.

If the method fails, the return value is one of the following error codes.

Value Meaning

E_ABORT

The operation was aborted.

E_FAIL

An unspecified error occurred.

E_INVALIDARG

One of the parameters is invalid.

E_NOINTERFACE

A specified interface is not supported.

E_NOTIMPL

A specified method is not implemented.

E_OUTOFMEMORY

The method was unable to allocate required memory.

E_POINTER

A pointer passed as a parameter is not valid.

E_UNEXPECTED

The method failed for unknown reasons.

Remarks

If you specify the name of the object to add, ensure that the name is unique by calling ISdoCollection::IsNameUnique.

If the bstrName parameter is not specified, ISdoCollection::Add obtains it from the object specified by the ppItem parameter.
