GenerateCharacterization

Indexing Service is no longer supported as of Windows XP and is unavailable for use as of Windows 8. Instead, use Windows Search for client side search and Microsoft Search Server Express for server side search.
The GenerateCharacterization entry controls whether Indexing Service automatically generates characterizations (also known as abstracts) for files that it indexes.

Remarks
The results of setting the GenerateCharacterization entry to a value of zero can also be attained by setting the MaxCharacterization entry to a value of zero.
