Using Indexing Service APIs from Scripts

Indexing Service is no longer supported as of Windows XP and is unavailable for use as of Windows 8. Instead, use Windows Search for client side search and Microsoft Search Server Express for server side search.
Scripts can manage and query Indexing Service using the Admin Helper API and the Query Helper API, which make programming easier than directly using the OLE DB Provider for Indexing Service. Scripts can also use the ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) API, which represents the rowset of the OLE DB Provider as a Recordset object.
