Viewing the Contents of a Macro Component

5/10/2007

After a macro component is created and added to the database, it can be used in configurations.

If the Selector Prototype Component was used as the prototype for the macro component, the individual components included in the macro component can be viewed in Target Designer and optionally excluded from the configuration before a dependency check is run.

If the Selector Prototype Component was not used as the prototype for the macro component, the individual components included in the macro component can be viewed only in Component Designer.

To view the contents of a macro component in Target Designer

  1. Open Target Designer.

  2. Create a new configuration (.slx) file.

The new macro component appears in the component browser pane.

  3. Right-click the macro component, and then choose Add.

The component is added to the configuration.

  4. In the configuration editor, expand the node for the macro component and choose Settings.

If the prototype for the macro component was the Selector Prototype Component, the components included in the macro component are listed on the Components tab in the details pane. The check boxes for these individual components can be selected or cleared as needed for your run-time image.
