Configuring the System Identification of a Run-Time Image

You can change the default system identification values of your run-time image in Target Designer.

To configure the system identification of a run-time image

  1. In Target Designer, expand the node of the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) component for your configuration. This is one of the following components:

    • ACPI Multiprocessor PC
    • ACPI Uniprocessor PC
    • Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC
    • Compaq SystemPro Multiprocessor or 100% Compatible
    • MPS Multiprocessor PC
    • MPS Uniprocessor PC
    • Standard PC
  2. Choose Settings. The System Settings appear in the Details Pane.

  3. Under System Identification, choose Show. The System Identification settings are displayed.

  4. Type the System Identification values for your run-time image. The following table describes the fields.

    Field Description

    Computer name

    Name used to identify the system. If this setting is left blank, a random name will be created during the FBA process.

    Registered owner

    Owner of the system.

    Registered organization

    Organization the system belongs to.

    Workgroup membership

    Workgroup the system belongs to. If this field is left blank, the system will not be assigned a workgroup.

After you change the system identification settings, you can check dependencies and rebuild your run-time image.
