How to Remove Update Rollup 1.0 for Windows XP Embedded

You can remove Update Rollup 1.0 for Windows XP Embedded by deleting the Update Rollup 1.0 for Windows XP Embedded components and repositories from the existing database.
To remove Update Rollup 1.0 for Windows XP Embedded
Close all Windows XP Embedded tools.
Start Component Database Manager.
If Component Database Manager does not start in Exclusive Mode, a Windows XP Embedded tool is still open and has a connection to the database. Locate the open tool and close it.
Choose the Packages tab.
In the Available packages list, choose the Update Rollup 1.0 for Windows XP Embedded Package [Version 5.1.2600.4010,R4010] package.
Choose Delete Package, and choose Yes.
In the Available packages list, choose the Windows XP Embedded Service Pack 2 Feature Pack 2007 QFE package to be deleted as identified by QFE KB followed by the six-digit knowledge base number associated with that Windows XP Embedded Service Pack 2 Feature Pack 2007 QFE.
Choose Delete Package, and choose Yes. For each additional Windows XP Embedded Service Pack 2 Feature Pack 2007 QFE to be deleted, return to step 6.
Close Component Database Manager.
Open Windows Explorer, and open the \Windows Embedded Data\Repositories folder.
Delete the following folders:
{82F504C8-6B7B-4AC3-A3B7-9D3674C28AF5}
{7D2CC08E-D3CB-4B10-9995-6FF8DC644168}
Note
If you hold down the Shift key while deleting, the folders will be permanently deleted instead of going to the Recycle Bin.
If you previously backed up your Windows XP Embedded Service Pack 2 Feature Pack 2007 component database, you can also remove Update Rollup 1.0 for Windows XP Embedded by restoring your component database, and then following steps 9-10.
Note
You may be prompted to uninstall Update Rollup 1.0 for Windows XP Embedded again, even after following these steps. If this occurs, choose OK to close the dialog box and continue with the Update Rollup 1.0 for Windows XP Embedded uninstall.
Close all Windows XP Embedded tools.
Start Component Database Manager.
