GweBypassCoredllThunk_t::SetWindowTextW_I

This method changes the text of the title bar for the specified window, if it has one. If the specified window is a control, the text of the control is changed.

static BOOL WINAPI SetWindowTextW_I(
  HWND hwndThis,
  LPCTSTR psz
);

Parameters

  • hwndThis
    [in] Handle to the window or control whose text is to be changed.
  • psz
    [in] Long pointer to a null-terminated string to be used as the new title or control text.

Return Values

Nonzero indicates success. Zero indicates failure. To get extended error information, call GetLastError.

Remarks

This method is an internal version of the SetWindowText function.

If the target window is owned by the current process, GweBypassCoredllThunk_t::SetWindowTextW_I causes a WM_SETTEXT message to be sent to the specified window or control. If the control is a list box control created with the WS_CAPTION style, however, GweBypassCoredllThunk_t::SetWindowTextW_I sets the text for the control, not for the list box entries.

The GweBypassCoredllThunk_t::SetWindowTextW_I method does not expand tab characters (ASCII code 0x09). Tab characters are displayed as vertical bar (|) characters.

Requirements

OS Versions: Windows CE .NET 4.0 and later.
Header: GweBypassCoredllThunk.hpp.
