FSDMGR_CreateSearchHandle

This function creates search, or find, handles. It is called by the FSD.

HANDLE FSDMGR_CreateSearchHandle(
  HVOL hVol,
  HANDLE hProc,
  PSEARCH pSearch
);

Parameters

  • hVol
[in] Handle to the mounted volume that is returned from FSDMGR_RegisterVolume. This handle is not a true Win32 handle.
  • hProc
[in] Handle to the originating process handle.
  • pSearch
[out] Pointer to the search-specific data defined by the file system driver for the new handle.

Return Values

A search handle associated with the originating process indicates success. INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE indicates failure.

Remarks

An FSD calls this function when an application calls FindFirstFile and it gets routed to the MyFSD_FindFirstFileW function in the FSD. The handle created by this function is necessary in order to provide proper routing of calls based on the search handle.

This function returns a handle to the application that called the FindFirstFile function created by the independent software vendor.

Requirements

OS Versions: Windows CE 2.10 and later.
