Installing an SDK on an Application Development Platform

A platform developer can provide an SDK for a custom Microsoft Windows CE–based platform. The SDK may support Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0 or the Smart Device Extensions (SDE) for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. Before installing the SDK on a development workstation, you must first install the corresponding application development tools.

To install an SDK on an application development platform

  1. Run the .msi executable file for the SDK.

  2. In the Setup Wizard, choose Next.

  3. Choose I Accept the Terms in the License Agreement, and then choose Next.

  4. In the User Name box, type your name.

  5. In the Organization box, type the name of your company, and then choose Next.

  6. To select the features that you want to install, choose Custom.

    - or -

    To install the entire SDK, choose Complete.

  7. Adjust the settings for the SDK so as to satisfy your requirements, and then choose Next.

  8. To install the SDK, choose Install.

  9. To complete the installation, choose Finish.
