Duas notas rápidas sobre o Open XML

Queria só deixar aqui duas notas rápidas sobre o Open XML. Como muitos sabem, a semana passada decorreu a BRM e a ISO publicou um comunicado sobre a reunião:

Por outro lado o Editor do ODF, Patrick Durusau, publicou este artigo onde explica as razões pelas quais acha que o Open XML deve ser uma norma ISO.
"Because approval of DIS 29500 insures an effective international and public forum whose members will be heard by Microsoft I recommend approval of DIS 29500 as an ISO standard.*"

    Caro Tito Morais, Obrigado pelo seu contributo! É uma perspectiva importante e totalmente razoável. A parte que mais gostei foi: "I'm not advocating ISO-approval of OOXML because I trust Microsoft to do the right thing -  I am advocating ISO-approval of OOXML because we as society cannot afford the possibility of Microsoft not doing the right thing Microsoft opponents should actually be the ones screaming "Microsoft, put OOXML in ISO - we don't trust you". Instead they say "Microsoft. we don't trust you - kep your file format to yourself"." O que este comentário vem demonstrar é que é dificil compreender este sentimento "anti", quase cego.

    Caro Vasco, Obrigado pelos seus contributos! O feedback parece ser positivo e isso quer dizer que houve muito trabalho feito durante a BRM.

    Caro Vasco, Obrigado por ter partilhado toda esta informação. É um facto que muitos Organismos Nacionais de Normalização mostraram a sua satisfação com o resultado da BRM. Mas como se pode ver cada um que lá esteve tem a sua interpretação. Pena é que muitos activistas da campanha Anti-Open XML venham emitir opiniões e especular sobre situações, sem nunca lá terem estado. Triste! "A world-first, TextGlow allows users to view Office Open XML Word documents without having to download them, irrespective of whether or not they have Microsoft Word or any other Microsoft Office application installed. Office Open XML Formats, which are based on Ecma standard 376, are the default file formats for the 2007 Microsoft Office system." No Techdays iremos fazer exactamente essa demonstração.

    Decisão do comité técnico Americano após a BRM http://geeks.ms/blogs/roller/archive/2008/03/07/dis-29500-recommended-for-approval-by-the-united-states-v1-committee.aspx DIS 29500 Recommended for Approval by The United States V1 Committee I just saw this come through in email, and would point you to Doug Mahugh's blog that the US V1 technical committee voted today regarding DIS 29500. I wrote about the V1 committee and the US position back before the Sept. 2 ballot here and here. I also posted on the Executive Board decision for INCITS here.
