The infamous Messaging Reply-All bug.

Argh, do you wonder why replying-all to a message adds you to the recipient list? It's annoying. The problem is that Messaging does not know who you are. Here is the work-around :-

  • Go to Start -> Programs
  • Launch Active Sync
  • Go to Menu->Options
    • (This menu item will be disabled during sync)
  • Select ActiveSync
  • Click Settings
  • Menu -> Advanced
  • Enter your e-mail address in the "Primary e-mail address" field

There, it was easy, wasn't it?

    Apparently Outlook Mobile treat differently user@microsoft.com and User@microsoft.com resulting in unwanted behaviour.

    Corrections in the instructions above that worked for my WM 6 smart phone:

  • Go to Start -> Programs

  • Launch Active Sync

  • Go to Menu->Options    o (This menu item will be disabled during sync)

  • Highlight "Email"

  • Click Settings

  • Menu -> Advanced

  • Enter your e-mail address in the "Primary e-mail address" field          o This is the e-mail address that shows up when you reply-all.  In my case, it is user@exchange.microsoft.com, instead of user@microsoft.com.

    I have the opposite problem.  I WANT to get copies to myself of all reply-alls that I send.  It used to be that way and it now longer happens automatically.  This is for my laptop where I'm running Outlook 2003 SP3 if that makes a difference.  Maybe the Mobile blog isn't the right place but seems to be where the knowledge is about reply-all problems.
