New Outlook - How to view multiple calendars side by side

I just switched to 'New Outlook' (Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.411.200 (Production). Client Version is 20230414002.01) and I'm unable to view more than one calendar side-by-side. When I select more than one calendar, the default overlaps them in one calendar and split view is greyed out. Below is a screen capture. How do I fix this? Hi Yasmeen, I noticed the same on mine - but if I do Day, Work Week, or Week view, it will let me split them and have them side-by-side. It's definitely not as user-friendly as it used to be, I think, but at least it is somewhat doable.

Click on the "Split View" button to see the calendars side-by-side.

The split view doesn't work for month view only for the other views - Like the other commenter, if this is removed, I will have to discontinue use of outlook and find an alternative.

I agree this is a necessary function for users who manage multiple teams of people using separate group calendars. Having to look at it one week at a time to make use of the split view is not practical. I need the month view side-by-side option. I am turning off preview mode to go back to the old outlook and hoping that this functionality will be added in the future.

I use this function as well with a Month View to plan and schedule my team calendar. This is disappointing that we are not able to do this on the Month View. My whole team uses this feature with the Month View. Please consider adding this functionality back.

Yeah this was a dumb move to remove side by side view for month. Who at Microsoft thought this was not necessary to keep that must not need to access multiple calendars. How would you not get confused on what is for what calendar if it's overlapped. They're all defaulting to the same blue color on top of that.

I need to see my calendars in month view and testing out the "New" outlook reveals the usual rubbish from Microsoft imbeciles - This is what we are giving you as we think you should look at your calendars like this - I have moved back. they are truly useless idiots taking key functionality away - what makes these halfwits think that we only need to view in day, week etc... but not in the most important view - MONTH. Switching back has been the best move as it does everything I need and I do not care about "Softer" looking buttons and other superficial enhancements when the important functionality is being stripped away. Another Microsoft developer team car crash - Idiots !

Based on my test, i got the same result as yours, i'm afraid that the side-by-side view is not available in New Outlook preview.

The some problem is happening with me. I just can't see the "split view" mode in the Month view, but only in the Day, Work Week and Week view.
Actually I am having this problem while using it on the browser (chrome), but using the Outlook in App on my desktop this problem doesn't happen (in the app I'm still in the classic outlook).
I don't know, but maybe updating the app to the New Outlook view I would start to have this problem too.

So I'm on here looking for the solution, it's 9/5/2023 and having same issue. Split View option is greyed out on the Month view, which is the only one I use. Anyone find a solution?? I am not enjoying the update

Sure, customer feedback for new features is a great idea. But why is Microsoft removing features????

This was already a feature. Nothing has changed, other than Microsoft removing the feature for split-view. This is a step in the wrong direction for a software that I am paying to use.

Please add that to your "customer feedback".

I vote yes for the split screen in the month view. Not sure why it will not let me vote says I am restricted. Please please please bring back the split screen

This new Outlook is terrible. So you can only split calendars in day, work week, or week mode not month that's ridiculous. This whole "new" Outlook is terrible and my old Outlook will not load back so I'm stuck with this. It's just terrible why would you "upgrade" Outlook only to make it LESS user friendly. You are taking away features and some how this is an upgrade?!

This was really stupid for them to remove split month view. I'm sure most users will not be happy about this.

This had been driving me mad for a few weeks, I have three calendars that I'm actively using all the time but I've always used the Month view for as far back as I can ever remember using Outlook.

So in Month view, all my calendars were overlapping, but I wanted my three calendars side-by-side. I found a good guide today that detailed how to get my calendars side by side so as I come across this post, I thought I'd add what I have found to it.

It's very simple in the end, all you need to do is to ensure you have selected your multiple calendars and then change the view from Month to something else. This then enables the Split view button - which when enabled, gives you side by side calendars.

I'm getting on in age a bit now and I don't like change and I don't like that Microsoft have taken the option away for Month view side by side calendars, but I'm getting used to it now.

I found a way to split the calendars in Month view. When the calendars are merged ("overlay mode"), if you click on the arrow pointing right next to the second calendar, it will change the view to "side-by-side mode".

Once in side-by-side mode, the arrow points to the left. Clicking that returns to "overlay mode".

We are working in the new Outlook not the old. The new Outlook does not have those tabs.

Hmm. I have Microsoft 365 for business, and it was just updated on May 30th. Hopefully this helps someone.

Look at the top right corner. There's probably a button to switch to the new. I wouldn't recommend it if you like the month side by side calendar but you can still switch back to the old right now.
