new DC AD Sync with M365 question

Dear All,

I got a Hybird environment with M365 and my AD got issue i would like to rebuild a new domain controller in new forest and ad sync to M365, just wonder how i can clear the old AD records that still exist in current M365 portal ? or i can manually remove it from users tab ? any help would be appreicated

You would need to disable Entra Connect by following https://mattchatt.co.za/how-to-disable-entra-id-connect-sync-using-msgraph-powershell/

Once you disable it, you will be able to delete AD objects replicated to your Entra tenant.

i have disabled the sync by using following command, and checked in portal the Microsoft Entra Connect has stopped, after i could start remove the AD users ? afterward i could start do the AAD sync with the new DC to the M356 portal ?

set-msolDirSyncEnable -EnableDirSync $false

You should be able to delete the users sourced from AD DS once the sync is disabled.

As far as synchronization from a different AD DS domain/forest, you should set up Entra Connect by following https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/entra/identity/hybrid/connect/how-to-connect-install-roadmap
