Running ConfigMgr v 2006. Clients are Windows 10 build 1709 that need to be upgraded to build 1909. For that we created a task sequence that is deployed to a few test machines.

Sometimes installing this TS from Software Center runs without issues, but most of the time nothing happens. Status is changed to "Installing" in Software Center but the TS never actually starts.

When looking at smsts.log we see the following entries but TS never starts:

Other logfiles give me no clue to why nothing is happening here

We are upgrading our SCCM env to v 2010 tonight to see if this might fix something here.

Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong here?? Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

    I know this reply is quite late, but have you ever found any solution? We have this on different kind of devices, VM or hardware, that the task sequence is just in the "Installing" mode and the log file looks like:

    ==========[ TsProgressUI started in process 14408 ]========== TsProgressUI 11.04.2023 06:52:51 35428 (0x8A64) Registering COM classes TsProgressUI 11.04.2023 06:52:51 35428 (0x8A64) sbModulePath = C:\WINDOWS\CCM\TsProgressUI.exe TsProgressUI 11.04.2023 06:52:51 35428 (0x8A64) Shutdown complete. TsProgressUI 17.04.2023 15:40:53 21312 (0x5340) ==========[ TsProgressUI started in process 20820 ]========== TsProgressUI 17.04.2023 15:45:57 11124 (0x2B74) Unregistering COM classes TsProgressUI 17.04.2023 15:45:57 11124 (0x2B74) Shutdown complete. TsProgressUI 17.04.2023 15:45:57 11124 (0x2B74)

    This is no OSD TS, it will just check if there is a BIOS Update. I also played around with the high performance option.

    We use currently version 2211 with Hotfix Rollup.

    Thanks

    Stephan

    I've seen this on machines with too many Task Sequences deployed to the machine.
    I'd suggest trying this:
    Take test machine, remove it from all collections that have Task Sequences targeted to it.
    Have it in 1 collection that has a TS available, and then try.
