Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Dear All ,

The issue has been partly sorted out.

It seems the issue was related with the "App Readiness" service being stopped on the RDS server.

When this service is running we have noted when a user is logging on , a black screen appears for about 30-45 seconds before the desktop appears. Upon stopping , the logon process is very fast (less than 10 secs). But for unknown reason , this has caused the issue mentioned in the thread (the activation issue).

A case was opened with Microsoft but no solution found for the activation issue.

So for the time being , the service has been started and office is activating correctly at the expense of latency at the logon.

    Regards,

    Raj

    Hello @Raj Seegobin ,

Thanks for your update. Did you update the Windows OS to the latest version?
I have a similar issue from customer that they disable the App readiness service otherwise would get black screen for a long time before logon. The black screen was fixed after Windows latest update for 1903/1909.
The operating system is different from yours, but I hope this may give you any help.

    Dear Leila,

Due to a customised app , we need to stick to Windows server 2019 1809. Do you have any idea which KB sorted out this issue.

    Regards,

    Raj
