Hi,

we are using FSLogix 2009 on Windows 10 (1903 and 20H2) and discovered an issue with this version, which also exists in the most recent version 2009 HF1.

When we activate the setting PreventLoginWithFailure and the logon process encounters some kind of error (like a locked profile disk), instead of displaying a message with the error, the screen remains black and nothing happens.

In the Windows event the following error is logged:
Faulting application name: frxshell.exe, version: 2.9.7654.46150, time stamp: 0x5fd8ebaa
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.19041.789, time stamp: 0x2bd748bf
Exception code: 0xc0000409
Fault offset: 0x000000000007286e
Faulting process id: 0x218c
Faulting application start time: 0x01d72bb662f1ecb4
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\FSLogix\Apps\frxshell.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\ucrtbase.dll
Report Id: 0a130425-89a0-4fff-9fd8-3ddc234524eb
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

We did a test with the version 2004 and with this version the issue does not occur.
When we exchange the version of frxshell.exe in a 2009 HF1 installation, with the exe from the 2004 version, it still works.

So I guess either the version of frxshell.exe shipped with 2009 is faulty or does not play well with Windows 10 versions 1903/20H2.

Is there a fix or workaround out there which can be applied?
We would rather like to use the more recent build of FSLogix..

    Hello @WolfgangE-9232 ,

Can you show the registry settings of fslogix? Did you configure Cloud Cache?

    Hello @Leila Kong ,

    thanks for your reply.

Of course, I attached a txt file with my settings: 85786-fslogix-settings.txt]1
No Cloud Cache has not been configured.

I did use the admx file to configure my profile containers.
Only the option "ShellDisplayText" was set via reg key.

Looking forward to hear from you.

    Regards,
    Wolfgang

    Hi
We have exactly the same problem. When is the new version available? Where can we download the old version (2004)?
    Regards,
    Heinz

Problem solved. I changed the include/exclude grous to "update" instead of "replace" in my GPO.
