Hi,
we are using FSLogix 2009 on Windows 10 (1903 and 20H2) and discovered an issue with this version, which also exists in the most recent version 2009 HF1.
When we activate the setting PreventLoginWithFailure and the logon process encounters some kind of error (like a locked profile disk), instead of displaying a message with the error, the screen remains black and nothing happens.
In the Windows event the following error is logged:
Faulting application name: frxshell.exe, version: 2.9.7654.46150, time stamp: 0x5fd8ebaa
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.19041.789, time stamp: 0x2bd748bf

We did a test with the version 2004 and with this version the issue does not occur.
When we exchange the version of frxshell.exe in a 2009 HF1 installation, with the exe from the 2004 version, it still works.
So I guess either the version of frxshell.exe shipped with 2009 is faulty or does not play well with Windows 10 versions 1903/20H2.
Is there a fix or workaround out there which can be applied?
We would rather like to use the more recent build of FSLogix..
