There is a Microsoft® Visio® Plan 2 MSO (16.0.14228.20216) 64-bit
When I opened a new file with pre-opened stencils I see all stencils , but when I try to search - nothig. How can I fix it?
This problem has been around for several years...

We have found an issue because of which shape search for Visio in not currently working on Windows 11. The fix is in works. This problem still exists in Version 2307. The link provided previously no longer works as the registry paths do not match the ones in the fix steps. Considering the price of Visio Plan 2, it is shameful that the shape search has stopped working for all this time!!! The app is practically unusable without shape search. A massive productivity hit and a huge waste of time...

no, this problem has existed for a very long time. I install Visio on any new computer and it's the same everywhere: the search doesn't work. I'm tired of looking for solutions, and I just don't use the search, but now I really needed it... but it doesn't work again. Even in another company, on a new computer.
I've done the repair - it didn't help.

Does the machine in another compay, the Documents folder which includes "My Shapes" also be synced to OneDrive?
Could you create a new local adminstrator account? Do not sync the Documents folder to OneDrive, and set this Windows account name with English letters, than please open Visio to search shapes.
no, this machine is in its own company. But every time I change the company, I have the same problem.

If this issue reproduced on machine with "My Shapes" in the Documents folder of the default path, I would suggest to uninstall Visio completely via tool, and install it from Apps and devices.

Does this search depend from the scaling of the actual drawing page?
I noticed a strange behaviour when pages are inches or mm.
This makes a difference in finding stencils!

I have Windows 11, search doesn't work at all since years, I would expect Microsoft to fix basic features in Visio since you need to pay monthly for it. Does anyone know if Visio is considered as a modern application at Microsoft? It seems like it's legacy.
