Writing Help
This section describes how to write Help topics that conform to the standards of the core Help.
Reference topics for application objects such as fields and windows must follow certain naming conventions in order to be displayed correctly as context sensitive Help. Following the guidelines for the different topic types, for indexing, and for creating the table of contents promotes consistency throughout the Help, which makes it easier for users to find the information that they need.
We also recommend that you refer to the Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications for guidance on general style issues. This reference guide is available from major book retailers.
You can use the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Reference Help Generator to create .htm files with the correct file names, titles and headings, for new objects that you have created in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
