Topic Last Modified: 2006-06-12

Microsoft® Exchange passes information to event methods through the event notification. Interfaces are passed into event sinks, and other interfaces can be obtained from within the event sink. For a list of interfaces that you can obtain from within an event sink, see Support Interfaces.

The event methods that handle synchronous events receive the IExStoreEventInfo Interface and an image of the item that caused the event to fire. For more information, see Working with Synchronous Events.

The event methods that handle asynchronous events receive the IExStoreEventInfo Interface and the URL of the item that caused the event to fire. For more information, see Working with Asynchronous Events.

The OnTimer Method receives the URL for the event registration item.

The OnMDBStartUp Method and the OnMDBShutDown Method receive the globally unique identifier (GUID) of the store and the name of the store.

You can pass custom information from the event registration item to the event sink. For more information, see Contextual Information in an Event Registration.
