User interface changes:
An updated connection center, where remote resources are now organized into three tabs: favorites, devices, and apps. In the Remote Desktop app, there was Workspaces and PCs.
- Devices: Find your desktops provided by your administrator across Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Microsoft Dev Box, and Remote Desktop Services, along with remote PC connections.
- Apps: Find your remote applications provided by your administrator across Azure Virtual Desktop and Remote Desktop Services.
- Favorites: Pin and easily access your favorite resources in a simplified view.
There's a first run experience where users acknowledge an updated set of license terms, and they're introduced to new functionality in Windows App.
Multiple Microsoft Entra ID accounts are supported. To avoid ambiguity, locally saved username/password combinations are labeled Credentials. In the Remote Desktop app, these locally saved username/password combinations were labeled as User Accounts.
Adding remote resources consists of either adding an account, a workspace, or a PC. In the Remote Desktop app, the only options were to add a workspace or a PC. Users who still need to explicitly define the workspace they're connecting to, including Azure Government, Azure operated by 21Vianet, or Remote Desktop Services, continue to add a workspace.
