Cuidado

WebRequest, HttpWebRequest, ServicePointe WebClient estão obsoletos e você não deve usá-los para um novo desenvolvimento. Em vez disso, use HttpClient.

A classe ServicePoint manipula conexões com um recurso de Internet com base nas informações de host passadas no URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) do recurso. A conexão inicial com o recurso determina as informações que o objeto ServicePoint mantém, que é compartilhada por todas as solicitações subsequentes para esse recurso.

ServicePoint objetos são gerenciados pela classe ServicePointManager e são criados, se necessário, pelo método ServicePointManager.FindServicePoint. ServicePoint objetos nunca são criados diretamente, mas sempre são criados e gerenciados pela classe ServicePointManager. O número máximo de objetos ServicePoint que podem ser criados é definido pela propriedade ServicePointManager.MaxServicePoints.

Cada objeto ServicePoint mantém sua conexão com um recurso de Internet até ficar ocioso por mais tempo do que o tempo especificado na propriedade MaxIdleTime. Quando um ServicePoint excede o valor MaxIdleTime, ele pode ser reciclado para outra conexão. O valor padrão de MaxIdleTime é definido pela propriedade ServicePointManager.MaxServicePointIdleTime.

Quando a propriedade ConnectionLeaseTimeout é definida como um valor diferente de -1 e após o tempo especificado decorrido, uma conexão ServicePoint ativa é fechada depois que ela atende à próxima solicitação. Isso é útil para aplicativos que não exigem conexões ativas que são abertas indefinidamente, como são por padrão.

Nota

Em condições de alta carga, alguns aplicativos podem ficar sem threads gratuitos no ThreadPool, o que pode levar a um desempenho ruim do sistema (como tempos de transação altos e variáveis).
